Hospitality

Hospitality systems for venues that still have to count stock

Fast ticketing, modifiers, kitchen flow and recipe-aware inventory for cafés, bakeries and restaurants.

Problem

Orders shouted to the kitchen, ingredients ordered by instinct, and a drawer variance nobody can explain.

Software

Fast ticketing with modifiers, kitchen routing with preparation state, recipe-aware consumption and attributable shift closes.

Result

Shorter service times, purchasing based on actual consumption, and variance traced to a person and a transaction.

Hospitality software is judged in seconds. If a ticket takes four taps too many during a rush, staff work around the system and the data stops being real. We design these screens for the busiest twenty minutes of the day, not for the demo.

Behind the ticket, the same discipline as retail applies: consumption reduces stock, waste is recorded, and the shift report reconciles against the drawer. EncoderPOS already serves cafés and bakeries with fast billing, modifiers and the inventory and reporting backbone used in shops.

For venues with kitchens we add the flow between counter and pass — order routing, preparation state, and reporting that shows which items make money after ingredient cost.

What breaks in hospitality

  • Speed at the counter

Every extra interaction compounds across a queue. Modifiers and combos have to be one gesture, not a submenu.

  • Stock that is consumed, not sold

A sandwich sale consumes several ingredients. Without recipe-aware consumption, purchasing is guesswork and waste is invisible.

  • Kitchen and counter out of sync

Printed tickets get lost and verbal orders get missed. Preparation state has to be visible on both sides of the pass.

  • Shifts that do not reconcile

Cash handling, voids, discounts and staff meals all need attribution, or drawer variance has no explanation.

FAQ

Hospitality — questions

Does EncoderPOS work for a café as well as a shop?

Yes. Cafés and bakeries are among the industries it is configured for. Ticketing and modifiers are handled at the counter while inventory and reporting behave as they do in retail.

Can we run several outlets on one account?

Yes. Outlets are branches: separate stock and permissions, consolidated reporting, and menu or pricing differences handled per location.
